This Speed Queen washer maintenance guide will help you change the spin bin in a top-load washer. The spin basket is used to hold clothes throughout the wash cycle. If the basket is damaged in the point of attachment to the hub and makes an ominous banging or rubbing sound during spin cycles take it off and replace it. Consider replacing it if the basket has spots of rust in the areas where it’s chipped. This is because it can create marks on clothes. If the spin basket is damaged or rusted, replace it using a manufacturer-approved replacement part. Switch off the water and electricity. Unplug the power cord from wall outlet. Shut off the water supply valves to the Speed Queen washer. Wear gloves that protect your hands. Have someone help you move the Speed Queen washer away from the wall.
Lift the top of the panel: Seal the lid to ensure it won’t open and damage the control console , or even hit your arms while you work. The top screws holding the Speed Queen washer’s 2 hinge brackets off the back need to be removed. The wire cover can be removed from the Speed Queen washer by removing the screw. Take the impeller off: Insert a slot screwdriver into the notch at the bottom of the plastic cap and pry the cap off of the impeller. Take the spin basket out from the tub of washer: The spanner wrench should be placed on top of the spanner wrench so that the teeth of the wrench are in the notches in the nut. Hit the arm of the spanner wrench with a hammer to loosen the spanner nut. Next spin the spanner tool until the spanner nuts are loose and then remove it from your washer. To remove the spin basket from the tub in the washer by pulling straight up onto it.
Install the spin basket: The spin basket should be placed on the top of the shaft. After that, you’ll have to work the spin basket downwards until the shaft is fully covered. Install the spanner nuts and thread it onto the bottom of the spin basket. The spanner nut should be tightened by hand. Then, you can use the spanner wrench for tightening the spanner nuts. In order to tighten the spanner nuts employ a suitable amount of force to hit the spanner wrench’s arm with a Hammer. Reinstall the impeller by pushing the impeller to the top of the drive motor shaft until it is fully seated. Insert the bolt and then tighten it firmly. Attach the cap to the top of your impeller. Reinstall the tub-ring The tub ring should be placed on the top of the outer tub and push it downwards. To secure the tabs press the tabs down that are above the locking tabs.
Install the top panel by lowering it: Reverse the panel about a quarter inch to engage the brackets. The panel should be pulled back by about a quarter of an inch to ensure it is flush to the frame. The washer lid must be removed. Insert the screws back into the hinges at the top to the back of the control console. Lock the screws tightly. The tabs should be placed on the right side of the wire cover in the slots. Line up the holes on the left and insert the mounting screw. Make sure the cover is secure by tightening the mounting screw.
Restore the power and water: Then, turn on the valves for water supply. Connect the washer to the outlet. Restore the Speed Queen washer in its original place. Calibrate the washer by turning the dial counterclockwise for 1 time. Quickly (within around 6 seconds) rotate the dial three times clockwise, one click counterclockwise then one additional click clockwise. When you activate the diagnostic mode, all the light status indicators will be lit up. If the status lights do not blink, rotate the dial one complete turn counter-clockwise, to reset the control.
